Tomasso heads All-Region golf team.

The Waverly girls had another dominant golf season, and they are now being recognized on The Daily & Sunday Review All-Region Golf Team.

The team recognizes both boy and girl golfers from both the Fall and Spring seasons.

Waverly has won 99 straight dual meet matches, they won the Section 4 title and placed third at states.

Alex Tomasso is the All-Region Player of the Year after leading the Wolverines throughout much of the season and finishing 28th at states.

Waverly coach Pete Girolamo is the coach of the year this year.

Towanda's Tyler Hawley was the most improved golfer, after making districts for the first time and making it to the second day of districts and Kurtis Easton of CV was the Newcomer of the Year.

Tomasso and Waverly's Capria Picco are on the first team along with Sam Taylor of Tioga, Tanner Adriance of CV, Ryan Murrelle of Sayre, Ben Barnett of Wellsboro and Austin Outman of CV.

The second team was Gianna and Gabby Picco of Waverly and Sidney Tomasso of Waverly along with Towanda's Kourtney Dunn, CV's Tyler Vargeson and Brandyn Tuttle of Wellsboro.

The third team was Taynton Repard of Wellsboro, Hawley, Nate Kennedy of Athens, Hayden Dewey of Troy, Nate Sweet of Sayre and A.J. Middendorf of Tioga.
