Sayre's Murrelle, Wellsboro's Barnett finish up season at states.

Sayre's Ryan Murrelle and Wellsboro's Ben Barnett finished off their golf season at the PIAA Golf Championships today.

Murrelle finished the two day tournament tied for 25th with fellow D-4 golfers Evan Salamone of Lourdes and Vincent Bender of Warrior Run at plus-25.

The Sayre senior shot slightly better in the second round with a 12-over (83), including a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole.

He finished the day, and his high school career, with seven pars, seven bogeys and three double bogeys.

Murrelle's illustrious career ends with four district place finishes, including a district title, and now a trip to states.

Barnett shot 16-over (87) on the day for a plus-33 to finish in 33rd place. The junior had seven pars, seven bogeys, three double bogeys and one triple.
