Benton wins at Eagles Mere, Towanda second.

Scoring a 333, the Benton Tigers won a seven-team, non-league golf match at Eagles Mere Country Club in Sullivan County on Tuesday.

Towanda took second with a score of 359, just edging out Sayre who took third with a 360. Montgomery placed fourth with a score of 385, North Penn-Mansfield took fifth with a score of 395, Sugar Valley Charter took sixth with a score of 403, and Sullivan County took seventh with a score of 433.

Benton was led by senior Daryn Hess who shot a 74, the best score of the day. Jake Fought shot a 84, Mike Mrythel had an 85, followed by Mike Sherrick and Will Holdren who each shot a 90 and Sarah Sorber finished with a 100.

Towanda was led by Tyler Hawley who finished with a 85, followed by Connor Wilcox and Bob Farley who each shot a 90. Dawsan Manning finished with a 94, Kourtney Dunn finished with a 110 and Jon Hoffman shot a 111.

Ryan Murrelle led the Sayre squad with a 79, Gavin Blair finished with a 92, Nate Sweet had a 93, Ben Harding finished with a 96, Nick Allis had a 98 and James Esposito ended his day with a 102.

For North Penn-Mansfield, Drew Everetts led the team with a 92, Reece White shot a 97, RJ Farrell finished with a 101, Alex Stein shot a 105, and Ethan Weiskopff finished with a 109.

Sullivan County's Nathan Hansen and John Saxe each shot a 101, Alex Baumunk had a 110 and Alexis Randall shot a 121.

Troy's Hayden Dewey finished with a 89 for the course.
