Athens' Zach Sitzman shot a season low 76 to lead the Wildcats to an NTL sweep at Wellsboro's Tyoga Country Club Monday.

The Wildcats finished with a team score of 343 to win with Towanda second in 355. Mansfield was third in 379 followed by Northern Tioga (401), Wellsboro (402), Sayre (411) and Northeast Bradford (425).

"The kids were talking about it on the ride there," explained Athens' coach Jeff Novak. "They're starting to look ahead to see what they need to do to finish up the season. They are achieving their goals today."

Novak was also excited about Sitzman's medalist earning round.

"He must have played lights out today," he said. "It shows what he's capable of, especially going into districts. He was excited."

After Sitzman, Jacob Aquilio shot 86, D.J. Springstead scored an 87, Patrick Cole had 94, Sam Rockwell added 99 and Ryan Kennedy shot 109.

Nick Innocenzo led Towanda with an 85 while Michael Johnson shot 88. Zack Lantz added a 90, Mitchell Shoemaker had 92 and Ryan Chilson scored 112.

Ryan Campbell shot 90 to lead Mansfield-North Penn while JP Shaw added a 94 and Jarrod Burd scored a 97. Josh Everetts added a 98 for the Tigers while Patrick Ross had 112 and Carl notched a 113.

In exhibition action Justin Kling shot a 68 over nine holes while Katrina Toth had 70.

Nick Cevette had an 89 to lead Northern Tioga while Caleb Fitzwater added a 91. Riley Thompson scored 100 followed by Bryce Ianson's 121, Alex Abbott's 133 and Mark McCall's 134.

In exhibition action Kyle Reese shot 56, Alex Warner had 62, Samantha Spurgeon had 64, Zach Lundgren shot 65 and Michael Krefski shot 69.

Jared Harris shot 101 to lead the Panthers while Nate Watkins and Mike Wallitsch both shot 107. Nik Geiser added a 110, Sawyer Russell had 112 and Nate Chilson scored a 127.

Nate Vandervort had a 60 in exhibition action.

Holdan Hitchcock led Wyalusing with an 87 followed Alex Dake (116) and Drew Gervin (136).

The teams will now get ready for districts and Novak is hoping his group can keep improving.

"Managing mistakes, it's what I've preached all season," he said. "It's about making the right choices."

It also seems fitting that the final NTL match will be on their home course at Tomasso's in two weeks.

"It's always good to have your home match when you're ahead in the standings," said Novak. "We still have to go out there and perform. We'll be right back on the course tomorrow practicing to get ready."
